The movie that lots and lots and lots of people have been asking from us is now finally released with English Subs! XD
The manga series from the
aspiring mangaka in Bakuman
came a long way to the small screen now to the big screen finale. This finale movie
also topped the box office in Japan
last year. Who would have thought that the series and movie would be this big when I, zeldAIS, was only concerned about a month before the broadcast of the series that no group was willing to sub it
(Can't be blamed - not much common ikemens most girls want to sub
)
On a side note, I, zeldAIS, would really buy the BluRay box of the JDrama series and the movie so expect 1080 resolution releases from us at SkewedS Subs-Scans in the future (as really, as I rewatched the series, since it was really rushed, there are tons of errors and whatnot I personally want to fix - so most likely do it
entirely
from scratch).
Anyway, have fun with this movie and be sure to have tissues with you while watching it as Shirota Yuu/Shinjou said in the CM - "Even if you watch it countless times, you'll cry."
"Flutter towards your dreams! Glitter into tomorrow!"

I have to say, I am really proud to have worked on this series. "Haruka" was my very first timing project to be released, and the series was just plain awesome.
As for the movie itself, I find it funny that I've watched the movie twice: once as I was editing and time-checking and another time for QC, both of which I was the last to complete. (The script was in three parts, and I was the last to turn in my edits.) XD
Anyhow, it's a wonderful movie that I feel ended the series very well. I'm sad that it's over, but I was very satisfied with the series overall.
On a semi-related note, there's going to be a lecture at my college tomorrow involving Koushien, so I'm pretty excited. XD

^ They went to Koushien - that's it
Even the manga didn't said what rank they are in the Koushien itself and had the same scene where they are facing the Koushien grounds.
As for me - I'm very happy how the JDrama was handled. The actors themselves adjusted for the JDrama to synchronize with the manga. Though of course, the actors themselves, I wish they got more people with meat as most of them are skinny
Kawatou already is too skinny since in the manga - he is a muscular big guy. I kinda got facepalmed at first when I saw Mikoshiba's and Aniya's heights were switched - Mikoshiba should be the smallest and Aniya second to the tallest next to Shinjou. Speaking of Shinjou's - he's too pretty! He should be the scariest of them all. And what the hell, Akahoshi is pretty! *facepalm* Hamanaka should be more good looking than him really as Akahoshi has that big forehead and long face. But saying that, I think they're acting mostly carried it and made the characters themselves awesome.
What's also good is that the weaknesses of the manga was handled very good towards the JDrama to the better. For example, Mikoshiba was made into the guy who likes the baseball team to be back - when actually in the manga it was another student who really quit school. And the series also started as 2nd years compared to the manga that they are 1st years. It's cool that they made the finale into their graduation time to make it more deep as that was never done in the manga. Though the tournament in the finale movie was between what happened in the series before their match with Megurogawa - either way, it was a good way to handle the story.
Hmm... which reminds me to try to find the live action and anime of Rokudenashi Blues
Only read parts of the manga and I think it's a good high school boxing series from the same mangaka

It was a great ending, it woulda been cooler IMO if they won, but from the way it looks, just getting their was just their goal.

Folks
that was a awesome work.
Rookies is the best dorama i've ever seen, i don't know if it is because i play baseball,
but to me, their dream echoed in my heart, i knew what is exactly their felling, cause last year my team
won a specific tournment for the first time in our history, that was really great, and we're like a family too.
I'll try to make all my friend in Brazil watch rookies, cause it worths.
I'll certainly look forward for another releases !

Long awaited movie, but it was done right!
Fun to work on and definitely paid off as I loved the movie in its entirety.
NOt too many flashbacks to the Drama, which is good.
Gave me a warm feeling seeing just how much their Dreams carried them.
Okay blame me for not knowing names... The scene with Aniya and the girl(friend), PRICELESS!!!
^Oh and near the end with the Girl(friend) holding onto that Good Luck Charm
^^Oh wait, can't forget when she got the Uniform from the team as well
Those 3 Scenes got me the most ><

Loved it!!! I honestly have no idea how should I express how much I loved this movie. I'm a very big fan of Rookies, it's probably one of my favorite Dramas out-there among the 60 something series I've seen. I've been waiting for this movie for a very long and thank you so much for taking your time and subbing it for all of us. Appreciate your work so much and looking forward to a lot more from great Dramas/Movies subs from SkewedS. Keep up the great work!!!
But yeah, ahh! This movie, omg... loved it! Guess I'll rewatch it again someday and I'm deff sure I won't be bored of it. Thanks again!

Rookies is the best JDrama that I have ever seen (next is Long Love Letters).
I'm glad that I have worked in this series, even though I started late ad just doing the Splash.
I wonder if they will adapt this to an anime series...
