Yep we get the Abaranger & probably the Sentai's nod to Ultraman. Well it's nice to see Asuka back in fighting form & to see Baki growing up.

It's wonderful to have you subbed 3 sentai series I love the most. You've made them even more enjoyable to watch Cheesy Thank you very much!

Nice to see Baki-chan growing up, wondering what happened to Asuka... It is just me or something is really spreading over his face...?

Great job! Cheesy

Hi monritche here, the new typesetter (still training under zeldAis-dono) for Abaranger. Hmmm this would be my first episode debut, and hoping to get better as we continue with this Dino-themed sentai series. I know many of you are patiently waiting for this release and we have something in store for you as consolation (Internet cookies for those who noticed them).

Just a recap of the previous episode, the Purple Dinosaur just hatched and the Black Ranger (can you still remember his name?) used so much of his DinoGuts to protect the Bakuryuu. We'll see how this scenario plays in this episode as they tackle this monster.

Errr not really, but you'll see the connection. Anyway, this episode is very interesting as it also touches on the current issue in Japan at the time of airing of Abaranger (related study). The sensitive issue of a person attempting to kill himself in a kid show is unusual for me, well hey it's Sentai right. But what got me wondering about is the demographics of suicidal rate in Japan at that time. I mean, were there a lot of Sentai Otaku who committed suicide in order for TOEI to put this plot in this episode? Remembering Densha Otoko...

This related research will help us know the demographics about Japan's suicidal rate during 2003.

So without further ado, we present to you Aba 09.

I really liked Asuka's fake stubble, & Ranru basically calling Ryoga a bad father.

Certainly interesting that they kinda attempted to touch on the subject of suicide, i'm kinda disappointed they didn't do more on the subject maybe try to educate kids on the subject. I remember seeing a show where they were looking for ghosts in the forest surrounding Fuji, and just getting really depressed at hearing about japanese just going into this forest with supplies just to commit suicide.

Anyway welcome to the site Monritche, looking forward too more of your stuff

^ I plan to remove that altogether or make an automation that has the updates. But yeah, still have to finish coding them for the completely new layout OTL;;

Skewed Studios presents Power Rangers Japan!

As if you don't know yet. This Abaranger episode was used as a source material for the Power Rangers DinoThunder episode 10: "Lost and Found in Translation". Probably the first (and last?) Sentai episode for some PR fans, since it was lucky enough to be dubbed and shown as a random cable tv show in DinoThunder. It met some praise and criticisms from PR and Sentai fans depending on how you interpret the Power Rangers' reaction to their Japanese counterpart. In a way I'm kind of excited for this Skewed release, because it can finally tell the real story behind the parody version shown in DinoThunder. Even Conner recommends watching it.  Grin

Sweet been looking forward to this episode for along time ever since I saw the Dino Thunder episode. So Bucky Bonds eh not so subtle reference to Barry Bonds and i'm sure that batting power he displayed against the Trinoid is in no way related to the roids controversy.

So Japanese Monopoly, I found a little section on Wikipedia that talks about it:

"Japan Edition - Both Japanese and American English boards are sold in Japan. The Japanese board includes districts from several major Japanese cities: the most expensive property is Tokyo's Ginza, followed by Osaka's Umeda, while the cheapest properties are Chiba and Sapporo".

Also their appears to be an Ultraman version too, kinda surprised there's no Sentai or Rider versions.

I don't know if I'm the only one having problems with this, but the audio and video are out of synch on mine.  I've tried redownloading from a different link and that didn't help.  I have to play in VLC and put the audio delay at -100ms for it to be close to correct.  Just wanted to bring this to your attention.

On another note, please keep releasing this series!  I have always hoped someone would do a better sub of this series since the HK subs are so terrible.  I can't wait until you get into the AbareKiller story!
